Diane Worley

January 13, 1950 — September 17, 2012

Leicester Diane Jackson Worley, 62, of 1362 Alexander Road went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mrs. Worley retired in 1992 as Lunchroom Manager of Clyde A. Erwin High School. She was a faithful member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and the Golden Gals of the church. She was a daughter of Catherine Young of Leicester and the late William Bill Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ray Worley who passed away January 8, 2011 and grandson, Matthew Guthrie and brother, Ronnie Jackson. Surviving in addition to her mother are her daughter, Lisa Guthrie and husband Randy of Leicester; son, Bryan Worley and wife Tracy of Enoree, SC; grandchildren, Jonathan Worley and his fiancee Brittany Scott and Gracie Guthrie; great grandchildren, Haley, Avery and Eliot Jones; sisters, Shirley Warren and husband Roy of Asheville and Donna Robinson and husband Al of Leicester; several nieces and nephews and her special friends and church family. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Roy McPeters, Rev. Harold Rash and Rev. Allen Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times, the family will be at the home of Lisa and Randy Guthrie, 44 Alexander Ridge Drive, Leicester. Memorials may be made to Cedar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 474 Cedar Hill Road, Alexander, NC 28701.
