Diane Tarrants

Sanford, NC- Diane Rogers Tarrants of Sanford, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26, 2018 after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Her loving husband James Rodney Tarrants was by her side along with her devoted son, Brian Davis (Lisa) and their children (Savannah and Mallory), step-daughter Crystal Jones (John) and their children (Jacob and Sarah), and her brother-in-law, Tom Tarrants (Lisa). Diane Tarrants lived a life full of passion traveling the world over; but her face never lit up more brightly than when she told stories about her grandchildren. She enjoyed doting on them, shopping for them and keeping up with their activities, creating precious memories along the way. Diane was born and raised in Asheville, NC where she grew up enthralled with sports, especially basketball. She played, coached and grew into The Carolina Tarheels greatest fan. Diane was a hard worker her entire life reaching into the fields of education and industry, excelling in the insurance profession - working side by side with her husband, Rodney. Although she acquired entire shelves of trophies and accolades, what Diane truly appreciated were the tremendous travel opportunities and trips awarded to them because of their accomplishments. No matter where they went, as long as they were together, Rodney and Diane were happy. After nearly 27 years of marriage, Rodney still refers to Diane as his Bride. Together, they made it to nearly every state in our country, to dozens of other countries and to almost every continent. Some of her favorite experiences included: enjoying the culture of Argentina, schooling fellow tourists at the card table in St. Kitts and witnessing the unforgettable boomerang golfing in Hawaii. Her footprints remain a path across the globe. Diane leaves behind cherished relatives and friends, too many to mention. Her family also wishes to thank the devoted ladies who cared for her daily. We are eternally grateful to Suzette Oxendine and Tye Locklear. The following loved ones went on to be with the Lord ahead of Diane: her precious baby boy, Chris Davis, Dianes parents: James and Clara Rogers, and Dianes older brother Jim Rogers (Jean Ann). Memorial services will be held 10 AM Thursday, March 1, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, 1428 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC with the Rev. Jackie Collins officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.
