Diane Mathews

Asheville - Diane Ricker Mathews, 68, of Asheville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County she was the daughter of Ruth Henderson Ricker of Asheville and the late Sylvester Ricker. Mrs. Mathews was a teacher and avid rose gardener. She was a graduate of Appalachian State. Surviving Mrs. Mathews, in addition to her mother, are her husband, Harold Mathews of the home, son Mark Mathews and wife, Larissa of Asheville, grandson, Griffin Mathews, and a sister, Kathy Means and husband Clifton of Asheville. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dianes name to your favorite charity. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Mathews family.
