Dewey Richard Sluder

Dewey Richard Sluder, 25, passed away on Thursday, November, 23, 1995 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Panama City, Panama, he resided in Buncombe County for 24 years. He was a son of Roy Samuel Sluder and Patricia Ann Messer Duarte. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was employed as a CNA at Victory Health Care. Surviving are in addition to his parents are his wife, Debra Ruth Courter Sluder of the home; children: Richard Hunter Sluder of the home, and Debra Nichole Sluder of the home; grandfather, Joseph F. Duarte of Hendersonville; maternal grandparents: Charles and Annis Roberson Messer of Asheville; sisters: Annis M. Hardwick of Asheville, and Stephanie Duarte of Asheville; and brother, Charles Sluder of Asheville. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 26, 1995 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. James Shields officiating. Burial followed at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family received friends from 7:00 till 8:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
