Clyde – Derryl Ray DeBruhl, 73, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family at his home on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
A native of Buncombe County, he was born on November 5, 1949, to Hilliard M. DeBruhl and Harriett Fisher DeBruhl. Derryl graduated from Clyde A. Erwin High School in the class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He enjoyed motorcycles and was able to do many things as a “Jack of All Trades”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his son, Dustin DeBruhl and wife Jennifer; grandsons: Grayson DeBruhl and Isaac DeBruhl; brothers: Ronnie DeBruhl and special friend Margaret Coleman, Larry DeBruhl and wife Debbie, and Mark Davis; sister, Becky Splawn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, November 28, 2022, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Military Honors by the N.C. National Guard Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 till 2 PM at the funeral home.
The DeBruhl family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Margaret Coleman for all her loving care during Derryl’s last few months.
