Dennis Stines

Alexander - Orville Dennis Stines, 90, of 632 Old NC 20 Hwy, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. A native of Madison County and resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. He served as a Construction Superintendent and Builder for most of his life and was a US Army veteran during the Korean War. Mr. Stines was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was the son of the late Jake Eugene Stines and Cora Wallin Stines and was also preceded in death by a son, Jeff Stines, and a sister, Lucille Jackson. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Dare Presnell Stines of the home; son, Jonathan “Jon” Stines of the home; sister, Colene DeBruhl and husband, Miles of Alexander and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Pastor Glenn Meadows officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the NC National Guard following services at the funeral home. Masonic graveside rites will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the French Broad Masonic Lodge #292. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home and respectfully request that mask be worn at all times during the services.
