Della Davis

Alexander – Della Davis, 85, went home to be with the lord on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Elizabeth House.

A native of McDowell County, she resided in Buncombe County since 1952. She was a daughter of the late Robert Will Waycaster and Emma Lou Thomas Waycaster, and wife of the late Walter Davis. She was also preceded in death by her five infant siblings, and brothers: Clarence Waycaster and wife Carolyn, and Kenneth Waycaster; and half-sister, Nell Whistnant.

Mrs. Davis was a longtime member of Gospel Tabernacle.

Surviving are her children: Joy Dalton and husband John, Darryl Dodd and wife Darlene, and Pamela Revis and husband Dwayne; grandchildren: Tonia Holderman (Phil), John Dalton, Kelly Kimbley (Ryan), Kristy Dodd, Mason Turbyfill (Haleigh), and Bryce Turbyfill; great-grandchildren: Brooke, Emily, Noah, Colton, Emma, and Aurora; great-great-grandchildren: Skylar, Jaxon, James, and Magnolia; sisters: Claudia Gooch and husband Joe, and Willie Barbour and husband George; brothers: Jack Waycaster and wife Linda, and Danny Waycaster and wife Linda; sister-in-law, Pat Waycaster; and by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, September 29, 2023, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hensley and Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Phil Holderman, Ryan Kimbley, John Dalton, Mason Turbyfill, Bryce Turbyfill, and Ian Girard.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 till 8 PM at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Joy Dalton, 2480 Brevard Road, Arden, NC 28704.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the Elizabeth House and FourSeasons Hospice, and Mountain Home Care for their exceptional care and compassion given to Mrs. Davis and family.
