Dee Robinson Stroupe

October 28, 1944 — December 5, 2009

ASHEVILLE Delia Jean Dee Robinson Stroupe passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009. Delia was born October 28, 1944 in Asheville where she graduated from Erwin High School in 1962. She soon married and traveled across the United States (including Alaska) and Germany as the military wife of Don Stroupe also from Asheville. She returned to the Asheville area in 1987. She will be remembered for her sassy attitude, quick witt, with a very loving nature towards her family and friends. She loved to read and listen to music, but was particularly happy being outdoors. While in Germany, her favorite activity was to walk in the Volksmarches where she would drag along her two daughters, Tiffanie and Stephanie with her every chance she could get. She was the daughter Mary Robinson of Asheville and the late J. Elmer Robinson and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Marcie Stroupe. Surviving in addition to her mother are her son, John Stroupe of Asheville; daughters, Tiffanie and Stephanie of Alaska; grandchildren, Alishia, Trent, Lindsey, Donald, Courtney and Brayden all of Alaska and Cheyenne & Sierra of Asheville; great grandson, Tyler; brother, Curtis Robinson and wife, Marilyn of Asheville; nephews, Sean & Joseph Robinson; niece, Emma Robinson along with most of her relatives and friends. Private memorial services were held for her family in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Owens officiating.
