Debra Reese Smith

Asheville - Debra Yvonne Deb Reese Smith, 42, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at Mission St. Josephs Health System after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of State Street Church of God and was employed by Medical Business Resources as a Medical Coder and Licensed Medical Lab Technician. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of Ray Dean and Carolyn Robinson Reese of Asheville. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Rev. Herbert and Nellie Reese, maternal grandparents, Edward M. and Dorothy Robinson, aunt, Shirley Hall, and cousin, Karen B. Harris. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Mark Alan Smith of the home; daughter, Rachael Karen Cole of the home; son, Zachary David Cole of the home; sister, Kelly Kathryn Reese of Asheville; brother, Brandon Scott Reese and wife Shannon of Arden; nieces, Kristen and Samantha; aunts, Wilma Jean Reagan, Corena Pearson and husband W.D., Loretta Pittillo and husband Clyde; uncle, Edward M. Robinson and wife Rhonda; several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday at State Street Church of God with the Revs. Aaron Phillips, Bruce Bartlett, and Bruce Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Ray and Carolyn Reese, 89 West Oakview Rd., Asheville.
