Asheville - Deborah Kay Bartlett Williams, 47, went home May 22, 2002 to be with her Lord, after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was employed by Waddell Sluder and Adams Insurance and Comforce Staffing. Debbie had also worked for the Buncombe County Department of Social Services and N.C. Department of Corrections. She was a former member of Edgewood Baptist Church and Sedgefield Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC. She was a daughter of Buna G. Bartlett of Asheville and the late Perry Bartlett. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Dallas P. Williams of the home; daughters, Nichole Gibbs, Erin Gaudette and husband, Greg all of Asheville; grandson, Gage Taylor Gaudette, granddaughter, Bailey James Gaudette; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Shelton and Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be son-in-law and cousins. Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
