David Michael Haney

Candler - David Michael Haney, 59, of 3 Shanes Lane, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at his residence. A native of Madison County, he had resided most of his life in Buncombe County. He retired as a machinist with Leo Jacksons Precision Products Performance Center in Arden. He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed reading his Bible regularly. Mr. Haney was the son of the late Jack and Jeanette Elkins Haney. Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Gwendolyn Blackwell Haney, of the home; his step-children: Tamra Taylor and husband Marvin Junior and Gary Dale Glance, all of Asheville; Connie Lynn Ramsy and friend Scotty Branam of Parottsville, TN, and James Grady Ball of Mountain City, TN; a special step-grandson, Nathan Allen Taylor; special step-granddaughters: Misty Taylor and Gwendolyn Lenora Ramsey; sisters: Dorothy Smith and husband Ronnie, Darlene Surrett and husband Lester, Linda Surrett, Clady Thomas and husband Roger, and Patricia Koch and husband Johnny; a very special aunt, Alice Lanning; a very special friend, Calvin Jones; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Saturday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Larry Sprouse officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
