David Lee Ingle

April 17, 1932 — January 7, 2007

Candler David Lee Ingle, 74, of 329 Davis Creek Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2007 following a period of declining health. Mr. Ingle was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and a son of the late Dallas A. Ingle and Fleta Ballard Ingle. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Clara Ingle Torrence. He retired from Nabisco as a Driver following 35 years of service and was a former Custodian and Bus Driver at Pisgah Elementary School, was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon, was a former Sunday School Teacher at Trinity Baptist Church and former Treasurer of WNC Camp Meeting. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Bobbie Holcombe Ingle of the home; children, Thomas David Ingle, Melinda Anne Ingle and Daniel Lee Ingle and wife Christy all of Candler; grandchildren, Larry Brian Christopher and wife Jamie of Boston, MA and Lauren Amber Ingle, Cody Daniel Ingle and Leah Christine Ingle all of Candler; brothers, Howard Ingle of Universal City, Texas, Preston Ingle and wife Jaylene of Cleveland, TN, George Ingle and wife Lorraine of Asheville, Jack Ingle of Arden and Ruben Ingle and wife Charlotte of Candler. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Revs Bobby Winebarger, Jim Whitted and Ralph Sexton, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, P.O. Box 28338, Asheville, N.C. 28813.
