Darrell D. Shroyer

Asheville, NC Darrell Duane Shroyer, 70, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals, Asheville, NC. He grew up in Bridgeport, IL and was the son of the late Harvey Preston Shroyer and Frieda Virginia Athey Shroyer. He moved to Chicago, IL where he started a family and resided for 20 years, before moving to Orlando, FL where he resided for 20 years, later retiring to Asheville, NC in the summer of 2017. He was a 1970 graduate DeVry Electronics Institute, and served as a non-denominational minister for the past 25 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hailey Hendren. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Barbara Joyce Kays Shroyer of the home; children: Angie Hendren (Kyle) of Wendell, NC, Hollie Henderson (Joseph) of Boiling Springs, SC, Darrell Lynn Shroyer (Amy) of Asheville, NC, and Cherie Barker (Jeremy) of Sumner, IL; 13 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lancaster Christian School, 6484 Hwy 11, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
