Darlene Rice

Asheville - H. Darlene Rice, 56, of Goldview Road, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native and resident for most of her life of Buncombe County, Darlene worked in the food service industry and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was the daughter of Marie Silver Rice, of the home, and the late Clifford Herman Rice. Surviving in addition to her mother are her sisters: Patsy Edwards and husband Ray of Asheville, Linda Franklin and husband Tony of Alexander, and Tina Laughridge and husband John of Marion; brothers: James Rice and wife Teresa, Tim Rice and wife Mary, and Stacey Rice, all of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday at the church.
