Daren Wayne Duvall

Daren Wayne DuVall, 55, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2023. He is now reunited with his dad (Boss) Rev. C.J. DuVall and mother Margaret H. DuVall, also sister, Norma Jean Murphy, sister-in-law, Wanda DuVall, and step-mother, Betty DuVall.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Jerry DuVall, and Allen DuVall and wife Lucy; step-sisters, Sharon Reed and husband Terry, and Susan Cope and husband Mike; step-brother, Michael Boyd and wife Terri; special nephew, Desi Murphy; and extended family of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Daren was a man full of laughter and joy. He lit up the room with a fresh presence when he walked in. Daren stretched us and taught us how to love better, laugh better, and care more. His favorite day of the week was Sunday when he could run up the stairs at Mt Sheba, ring the bell, be in fellowship and sing his favorite songs, especially Standing on the Solid Rock.

A celebration of Daren’s life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Mt. Sheba Baptist Church, 870 New Stock Road, Weaverville, NC 28787, with pastors Steve Rhinehart, David Parsons, and Allen Rash officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 1 till 1:45 pm.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff and Rehab Department at Guilford Healthcare Center in Greensboro, NC for their kindness and care of Daren.
