Daniel Harlan Boone of Asheville, 86, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at The Greens at Weaverville.
As a native of Buncombe County, he was Owner & Operator of Daniel Boone Agency which he operated for 60 years in the Asheville area. Daniel was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was an avid runner, running several marathons in his lifetime. He was a huge karaoke fan and loved to sing. Daniel served as President of the local Rotary Club and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow Recipient. He was very spiritual and a man of strong faith.
He was the son of the late Harlon Shuford Boone and Cara Belle Allen Boone. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Boone, his sister Barbara Ann Boone and granddaughter Avery King.
Surviving are his daughters Tammi Duncan of Newnan, GA & Anita King (Tony) of Weaverville, sons Josh Boone of Hendersonville & Dan Boone (Carol) of Greensboro, brother David Boone (Lorena) of Shelby, sisters Katherine Revis (Rex) and Mary Lou Cole of Asheville. Further he is survived by his grandchildren, Ashley and Trent Duncan, Gracie and Aiden King, Jacob Sharp, Savannah Palmer (Jordan), & Mattie, Abbie, and Sophie Boone along with his great grandchildren, Harper Mae Duncan, & Malaki and Emerson Palmer.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Monday, June 12, 2023, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Tim Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:30 PM, Monday prior to services at the funeral home.
