Daniel E. Freeman

Asheville - Daniel E. Freeman, 81, formerly of 121 Hudson Street, died Thursday February 21, 2002. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County before recently moving to P.O. Box 714, Landrum, SC, 29356. He was a civil servant for the Air Weather Service, member of Grace Baptist Church, ordained deacon, past Master of West Asheville Masonic Lodge #665, WW II Air Force Veteran, member of VFW Post 3040 and an avid golfer having achieved two hole- in- ones. He was the son of the late William and Sally Goforth Freeman and husband of the late Mildred Aiken Freeman. Surviving are his daughter, Danette Freeman Taylor and husband, Joe of Landrum, SC; grandson, J. Richard Taylor of Asheville and grandsons, Tripp and John Taylor of Shiloh, GA. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Jan Culpepper and Mr. Richard Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Enka. His family will receive friends from 2 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Mountain Area Hospice, P.O.
