Dale Woodson

July 10, 1940 — November 25, 2014

Asheville Dale Julia Smith Woodson, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 on the Renal Unit at Mission Hospital. She was the daughter of Bryant Ballew Smith who passed in 1967 and Stella Gibson Cothran Smith who passed in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Karen June Woodson who died in 2011, Aunt Ethel Buckner who died in 2011 and best friends, Jim, Cleta and Sue Conner. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by her sweetheart and loving husband, Barney N. Woodson, Jr. whom she was so thankful to God for and he was so very good and loving to her. She was also thankful for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends - daughters, Vickie Ingle and family, Donna Kopp and family; son, Barney Lee Woodson and family; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Annabell Simmons, Reba Smtih and Wanda Gregory and 9 nieces and nephews. Her beloved grandson, Barney Jake Woodson of the home, of which she thanked God for him and he was the sunshine and joy of her life. She was thankful for her friends, Yvonne C., Sue H., Marylou C., Leesa Y., Ralph C. and her special nephew, Bobby Smith. They were so good to her and she loved her family more than they could know. She was very blessed with all these people that she loved so much and all were very good to her throughout her life. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with The Rev. Father James Michael Swatzell officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
