Dale Lamar Pittman

Asheville - Dale Lamar Pittman, 65, of 49 Forest Lake Drive died Monday April 21, 2003 at the Laurels of Greentree Ridge after an extended illness. A native of St. Joseph County, In., he had resided in Buncombe County since 1979. He retired from Dodge Rockwell Automation in Weaverville after 37 years of service and was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Harold Ray and Frances Amelia Stillson Pittman and was also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Joseph and Alaina Pittman.. Surviving are his wife, Dixie Lee Pittman of the home; son, Rodney Lynn Pittman and wife Sherryl Lynn Pittman of Arlington, Tx.; daughter, Renee Dawn Pittman DeLaney and husband Terry W. DeLaney of Knoxville, Tn.; grandchildren, Jordan, Joshua and Amberlee DeLaney of Knoxville, Tn. and Caleb Pittman of Arlington, Tx.; brothers, Marvin Pittman of Orange City, Fl. and James Pittman of Bristol, In. and sisters, Beverly Pittman Shields of Manteo and Karen Pittman Massa of Belden, Ms. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday at Biltmore Baptist Church with the Rev. James Walker officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home of Asheville, N.C. will be in charge of Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:00 P.M. at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Bremen Cemetery in Bremen, In. with the Rev. David McGee officiating. Mishler F. H. of Bremen, In. will be in charge of Graveside Services. Memorials may be made to: Biltmore Baptist Church, 35 Clayton Road, Arden, N.C. 28704 or to: Western Carolina Rescue Mission, 225 Patton Ave., Asheville, N.C. 288801.
