Dale Evans

Alexander - Roger Dale Evans, 73, of Old Hwy #20, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2022, at the home of his daughter in Asheboro. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, He was a 1968 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. He and his son owned and operated Sharper Image Detailing. He retired from the US Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant and former veteran of the US Army with a total of 37 years, 5 months and 19 days of military service of which he was very proud of. He had served during Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. He enjoyed fixing up old cars, going to car shows, spending time with family and friends and sharing his meals with his grand dog, “Jake”. He was a son of the late Felix Crawford Evans and Margaret Clark Evans and was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Evans who died December 23, 2020. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Yvonne Hegar Evans of the home; daughters, Michelle Chriscoe (David) of Denton and Kim Evans of Asheboro; son, Jeremy Wilson (Deborah) of Leicester; granddaughter, Courtney Chriscoe (Spencer) of Asheboro; sister, Martha Maney (Gary) of Arden; brothers, Keith Evans (Kathy) of Leicester and Mark Evans (Linda) of West Union, SC and Dale’s special grand dogs, Jake, Cholie and Sookie. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 27, 2022, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Norris Wright, Rev. Sam King and Chaplain, Major Alexandra King, USAFR officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery with military honors to be conducted by a detachment from Shaw Air Force Base. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 PM Saturday prior to services at the funeral home.
