Craig Sr. Gentry

Asheville Craig Gentry, Sr., 79, of 200 Tunnel Road, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his residence. A native of Madison County, he had resided in Buncombe County since 1941. He retired from Asheville Ice and Cold Storage as an ice maker, and was a member of Hazel Green Church. Mr. Gentry was the son of the late Zebulon and Polly Marloioe Gentry, and the husband of Margaret Marie Caldwell Gentry, who passed away in December, 1989. He was also preceded in death by a son, Craig Gentry, Jr., and two sisters. Surviving are his wife, Carol Gregory; daughter, Debra Ann Fisher of Asheville; sons: Billy Gentry, Dicky Gentry and wife Nicky, and David Gentry and wife Suana, all of Asheville; brothers: Robert Gentry and Lige Gentry, both of Asheville; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday at Grace Episcopal Church, with Father Gary Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
