Coy King

Leicester - Coy King, 79, of 358 Goughes Branch died Wednesday February 13, 2008 at the Asheville VA Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Yancey County, he resided in Buncombe County for 44 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for over 35 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and served in the Medical Corps in Osaka, Japan. He was a son of the late Samuel and Lori Edwards King and was also preceded in death by two brothers. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Bailey King of the home; children, Terry King of Asheville, Renee Freeman and husband Keith of Candler and Adam King of Leicester; sister, Pauline Foster of Marion; brother, Arvil King of Burnsville; grandchildren, David Faulkner and wife Lea and Brittany Freeman, great granddaughter, Sydney Faulkner and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites provided by the North Carolina Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. Saturday at the church.
