Cornelia Hazel Shook

Asheville - Cornelia Hazel Haney Shook, 81, of 96 Dove Road died Saturday January 26, 2008 at Park Ridge Hospital after a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Aaron Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late James Monroe Haney and Addie Love Haney and the wife of the late Mack Shook. Surviving are her daughters, Maxine S. Cason and husband Linton of McDonough, GA, Jo Ann Shook of Candler and Melissa Shook Ellege of Leicester; sons, Calvin M. Shook and wife Patty of Fletcher, Jeffrey L. Shook and Marty Shook and wife Karen of Enka; sisters, Mazel Shook, Betty McKinney and Margaret McKinney; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
