Cora Lee Burrell

Candler - Cora Lee Tipton Burrell, 93, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was in customer service at the snack shop & cafeteria at St. Joseph Hospital and was a wonderful homemaker to 7 children. Cora was the daughter of the late William Tipton and Pearl Lunsford Tipton. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Jimmy Burrell and Gary Burrell; daughter, Wanda Bradley; sisters, Betty Cobb and Bonnie Swann; brother, Jullian (June) Tipton and daughter-in-law, Clara Buckner Burrell. Surviving are her sons, Jackie Thomas Burrell (JoAnn) of Candler, Robin Glenn Burrell (Gail) of Hendersonville and J.T. (Dusty) Burrell of Leicester; daughter, Mary Ann Burrell Davis of Leicester; sister Jean Amoine of Black Mountain; daughters-in-law, Jeanette Burrell of Candler and Diane Burrell of Hendersonville; 22 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 49 great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 AM Friday, September 11, 2020 at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Road, Asheville, with Rev. Eddie Rice officiating and Jeff Rigsby reading eulogy. Pallbearers will be Jody Burrell, Travis Bradley, Joe Payne, Steve Lunsford, Michael Lunsford and Jeff Rigsby. Family and Friends are welcomed at her home, the residence of Jackie Burrell in Candler.
