Columbus Horace Young

September 9, 1931 — August 16, 2023

Candler – Columbus Horace Young, 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Carepartners Solace Center.


Mr. Young was born and grew up in Glenville and was a son of the late Ted and Iowa Young. He lived in Buncombe County for most of his life and was a member of Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Young; brothers, Claude, and Alonzo Young; and sisters: Helen Young, Carolyn Nicholson, Florene Jennings, Murl Franks, and Winnona Stewart.


Surviving are his brothers, Canler Young (Shirley), and Hale Young (Linda); sisters, Reba Johnson, and Melva McCall (Bobby); daughters, Penny Haney, and Lynn Porvaznik; son, Bobby Mobley; grandchildren, Carmen Hall (Michael), and Michael Haney; great-grandchildren: Serena Haney, Melody Haney, Taryn Haney, Kinley Hall, and Dominic Haney; and many nieces and nephews.


Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Caitlyn Johnson officiating.
