Clyde Lee Edwards

Alexander - Clyde Lee Edwards, 65, of 210 Old #20, died Saturday August 24, 2002 at his residence. A life long resident of Buncombe County. He had retired from the U.S. Postal Service, was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, the Erwin District Lions Club and was an U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Edwards was a son of the late Rev. John Lester and Lillie Belle Honeycutt Edwards. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Rice and brother, Luther Edwards. Surviving are his wife, Euleen Roberts Edwards of the home; sons, Lee Edwards and wife, Carrie of Holly Springs, NC and Creig Edwards and wife, Lori of Weaverville; sisters, Pearl Sprinkle and husband S. J. of Asheville and Hazel Rash and husband, Fred of Greenwood, SC; brothers, Claude Edwards and wife, Stella and Rev. Gene Edwards and wife, Juanita all of Weaverville; grandchildren, Brooks, Bryson, Bailey, Jennifer, Justin and Jason Edwards; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Dr. Ronnie Owen and Chris Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Erwin District Lions Club. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Edwards was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and brother. He was especially proud of his sons and grandchildren and cherished his time with them.
