Clyde B. Williams

Leicester - Clyde Benjamin Williams, 87, of Newfound Road died Friday March 26, 2004 at the Oaks of Sweeten Creek after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Gordon Charles Williams, Sr. and Lavada Taylor Williams and the husband of the late Myrtle Hill Mills Williams. He was also preceded in death by a son, Victor Darrell Williams; grandson, Donovan Sean Williams; granddaughter, Felicia Williams and 4 brothers, Fred, G.C., Delmus and Glenn Williams. Surviving are his daughters, Renith Chancey of Asheville and Tanya Toni Shores of Savannah, Ga. ; step daughter, Edna Johnson of Fair Play, MO.; son, Corwin Williams of Asheville; sisters, Carrie Nobile of Louisiana, Pat Issac, Roselin Williams and Gail Helton all of Asheville; brother, Lloyd Williams of FL. 14 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating.
