Claudene "Mamaw" Mchone

Asheville - Claudene Mamaw McHone, 72, of 1 Lamb Ave., died Sunday, April 6, 2003 at Mission St. Josephs Health System. A life long resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Averys Creek United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and a beloved guardian of her children, grand children, great grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed helping people, cooking, and she was everybodys Mamaw. Mrs. McHone was the daughter of the late Herman Spencer and Kate Davis Scott and was the wife of the late Bud McHone. Surviving are her sons, Ronnie McHone and wife Carol and Larry McHone, all of Asheville, Gary L. McHone and wife Sara and Bobby Caldwell, all of Arden; daughter, Diane Dobson and husband Joey; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren: sisters, Wilma Tilson of Morganton and Marjorie Johnson of Long Beach, CA. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brenda Newman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Gary McHone, 18 Fieldstone Ct., Arden.
