Claude L. Bramlett

June 24, 1915 — January 31, 2003

Asheville - Claude Lafayette Bramlett, 87, of 41 Rosemary Road, died Friday January 31, 2003 at Memorial Mission Hospital after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from Globe Furniture Co. as the manager and after retirement worked a number of years with the Johnny Penland Auction Co. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a son of the late Hilliard and Ora Holcombe Bramlett and the husband of the late Florence Elizabeth Green Bramlett. Surviving are his sons, Gary Roby of Asheville and Dan Roby of Columbus, Ga.; daughter, Susan Bramlett Buckner of Asheville; sister, Margaret Whitaker of Winston-Salem; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Nieting officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 51 Wilburn Place, Asheville, N.C. 28806.
