Claud Gentry

Asheville - Claud Wesley Gentry, 88, passed away Friday December 17, 2010. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Claud was a WWII Marine Veteran, a member of West Asheville Baptist Church and had retired after 34 years of service as a fireman. Claud was a son of the late Claud Henry Gentry and Viola Mantooth Gentry. He was also preceded in death by a brother and 3 sisters. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Gentry, Christmas Eve would have been 65 years of marriage, daughter, Gwen Keenan and husband, Jack, son, Ron Gentry and wife, Pat, son, Rusty Gentry and wife, Ruth, sister, Mildred Yearout, sister-in-law, Sadie Gentry, grandchildren, Rodney Keenan, Samantha Brock and husband, Danny, Todd Gentry and wife, Chloe, Bracken Gentry and wife, Sarah Beth, Erin Gentry and Jessica Steelman, great grandchildren, Colt Brock and Penelope Gentry. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Monday, December 20, 2010 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with speakers Mike OConnor and Sadie Gentry officiating. Pallbearers will be, Ron Gentry, Rusty Gentry, Danny Brock, Todd Gentry, Bracken Gentry and Rodney Keenan. The family will receive friends 12:30 to 1:30 PM Monday, at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
