Clarence W. Robbins

July 15, 1911 — February 23, 2002

Asheville - Clarence Wilborn Robbins, 90, of 58 Mt. Carmel Drive, died Saturday February 23, 2002 at Emerald Ridge Rehab and Care Center. A native of Lenoir, NC, he had resided in Charlotte for 48 years prior to moving to Asheville in 1998 to make his home with his son and daughter in law. He was a retired self-employed cabinet maker, a member of Sharon Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Charlotte and a WW II U.S. Navy Veteran having served in the South Pacific. He was the son of the late Rufus Lafayette and Holly Campbell Robbins. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Edna Sanders Robbins; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Freeland; grandson, Martin Robbins and granddaughter, Teresa Robbins. Surviving are his daughter, Jeannie Mae Robbins of Charlotte; sons, Larry Wilborn Robbins of Midland, NC and David Alan Robbins, with whom he made his home of Asheville; 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sharon Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Charlotte with Pastor Ted Huskins officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Charlotte. His family will receive friends from 1 to 2 Monday at the church.
