Clarence Howard Shields

Clarence Howard Shields, 91, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his residence. A native of Spartanburg, SC, he resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He was the son of the late Lewis and Leola Shields. Mr. Shields attended Trinity Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Corene Shields, and daughter, Rita Williams and her husband Mike of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with Pastor Donnie Walker officiating.
