Clara Bennett Hagler

June 18, 1927 — April 24, 2009

Candler - Clara Cornelius Bennett Hagler, 81, passed away Friday April 24, 2009 at Pisgah Manor Health Care. A native of Mecklenburg County, she lived most of her life in Waxhaw and moved to Buncombe County in 2005. She was a member of Maple Ridge Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Harley Odell and Annie Bell Deese Bennett and the wife of the late Robert Eugene Hagler. She was also preceded in death by a son, Wallace L. White, Jr. and a step son, John Butler. Surviving are her sons, Troy Odell White of Monterey, Mexico and Donald James White of Candler; daughter, Lorelle Baker of Candler; step son, William J. Butler, Jr. of GA; step daughters, Barbara Ann Miller of NY and Alice Bennisen of TX; brothers, H.O. Bennett, JR. of FL, Joe Bennett of NC, Jackie Bennett of NC and Jimmy Bennett of FL; 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Maple Ridge Baptist Church in Candler with the Revs. Steven Fox and Al Brigman, Jr. officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Waxhaw with the Revs. Al Brigman, Jr. and Mike Mullis officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
