Cheryl Ann West

Asheville - Cheryl Ann Dukes West, of 5 Andieange Circle, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern, NC. A native of Russellville, KY, she had resided in Buncombe County for the past three years. Mrs. West was an avid bingo player, and loved being on the computer. She also enjoyed talking to friends and family and traveling. She was the daughter of Clyde and Marlene Goree Dukes of Asheville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Shelton West, who passed away in April of this year. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Hamlin of Asheville; two sons: Raymond West and David West, both of Monticello, AR; two sisters: Stacy Smiley of Brunswick, GA and Vicki Paulk of Daytona Beach, FL; two brothers: Kenneth Dukes of Black Mountain and Eric Dukes of Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:15 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 12 - 1:15 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
