Asheville Charles Foster Charlie Jenkins, 92, of 126-A North Ridge Drive died Friday, February 2, 2007 at his home. A native of Macon, Georgia, he resided in Buncombe County since the late 1950s. He was Owner and Operator of Charlie Jenkins Realty, former Owner and Operator of several Automobile Dealerships in Thomasville, Georgia and Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was former President of the Asheville Board of Realtors, a member and Deacon of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church for many years and a former member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church. He also was an avid fisherman and golfer. He was a son of the late William Julian Jenkins and Leila Powell Jenkins and husband of Ila Hall Jenkins who died August 31, 1997 and was also preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Jenkins and brother, Carl Julian Jenkins. Surviving are his brother, Robert Bob Jenkins and wife, Mary of Macon, Georgia; several nieces and nephews, including his nephew and his wife with whom was his special caregivers, Ben and Beverly Baker. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating. The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
