Charles Lee "Sonny" Crawford

Robbinsville Charles Lee Sonny Crawford, 88, of 117 Betts Hollow, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at his home. A native of Struthers, OH, he had resided in Asheville from 1955 until moving to Robbinsville in 1982. He retired in 1980 from the US Postal Service following 28 years of service as a Letter Carrier, was a US Army Korean War Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He was the son of the late William Lee Crawford and Mattie Mae Farmer Crawford and the husband of the late Mary Louise Green Crawford and the late Hannah Lee McLean Crawford. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Walker and son, Frank Crawford. Surviving are his children, Terry Crawford and wife Kathy of Robbinsville, Darryl Crawford of Candler and Mattie Marie Austin of Harkers Island; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in the chapel of the Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. officiating and the NC National Guard providing military honors. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.
