Charles J. Solesbee

Hendersonville Charles Jerome Solesbee, 88, of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 25, 2010. He was born April 7, 1922 in Woodfin. His parents were the late Jerome Ralph Solesbee and Zella Rhoads Solesbee. Charles Solesbee graduated from Woodfin High School in 1939. He was employed at Sayles Biltmore Bleacheries, Morgan Furniture Company, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and retired as a Real Estate Broker in Asheville. He was married for 63 years to Frances Allen Solesbee who preceded him in death in 2005. He was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church in Fletcher. He is survived by a son, Charles Norman Solesbee and wife Ann of Lyman, SC; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Jean Yarley and husband Wayne of Travelers Rest, SC; and another daughter, Mrs. Nancy Joyce Wilson and husband Rev. Richard Wilson of Bellefonte, PA. There are also 3 grandsons and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Balcom of New Beginning Baptist Church and his son-in-law, Rev. Richard Wilson of Bellefonte, PA officiating. Interment will be at the family plot in Sluder Cemetery in Leicester. The family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
