Charles Edward Proctor

Asheville . Charles Edward Proctor, 82, of 25 Reynolds Mountain Blvd. died Thursday, December 26, 2002 at the Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center following a period of declining health. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas. He had resided in Asheville since 1967. He formerly was employed by the Biltmore Company as a security guard at the Biltmore House, was a member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church and a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. He was a son of the late Roby Edward Proctor and Viola Echols Proctor. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Elizabeth Maxwell Proctor; daughters, Patricia Ramey of Spring, Texas, Darlene Llano of Fort Benning, Georgia and Cindy Hall of New Caney, Texas; grandchildren, Shawn Chandler-Ramey, Taylor Ramey, Nathaniel Llano, Tiffany Hardie and Christina Meister. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Lomax and Rev. J.C. Parker officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park, Candler. The family will receive friends 30 miniutes prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church Homebound Ministry, 283 Merrimon Avenue, Asheville, N.C. 28801.
