Charles Earl Crandall Jr.

Asheville - Charles Earl Crandall, Jr., 74, of Asheville, left this world Wednesday, July 4, 2007, to go to his new home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he owned and operated Padgetts Garage in Oteen until his retirement. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Charles Earl Crandall, Sr. and Helen Lee Wilson Crandall. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Carl Crandall. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Myrtle Shope Crandall; daughters: Brenda Gaines and husband Scott, and Nancy Hugg; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Honeycutt officiating. The family will receive friends following the services. A private graveside service will be held later at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
