Charles Burke Woody

Asheville - Charles Burke Woody, 84, of 76 Deaver Park Circle, went to be with The Lord Sunday February 17 2002 at the Oaks of Sweeten Creek. A native of Spruce Pine, he had lived in Buncombe County most of his life. He retired from Asheville Steel Co. and worked for Eaton Corp. for 10 years after retirement. He was the son of the late Jerry SEYMORE and Bertha Wyatt Woody and the husband of the late Hazel Amalie Taylor Woody. Surviving are his daughter Dena Singleton and husband Jerry of Candler; son, Charles Woody and wife Tammy of Candler; sister, Katie Birmingham of Maggie Valley; grandsons, Jerry Dean Singleton and Hunter Woody; great-grandchildren, Christy and Joshua Singleton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Smith and Wade Hall officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
