Cecil Williams

Candler - Cecil J. Williams, 92, of Candler, formerly of Graham County, NC, passed away Thursday December 16, 2010. A native of Graham County, he had lived in Candler for the past 5 years. He was a member and Deacon of Powells Branch Missionary Baptist Church and served in the US Navy during WWII. Cecil was a son of the late Goleman and Miranda Cable Williams. He was also preceded in death by his Wife Lois Mary Parks Williams, daughter, Joyce Ledford, brothers, Claude and Leonard Williams. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Cecil Williams, Jr. and Pat of Candler, daughter and son-in-law, Sheila Stewart and Randy, son-in-law, Claude Ledford, sisters, Helen Kitchens, Nell Sizemore, Katie Wilson and Myrtle Burns, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Sunday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Winebarger officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 to 3 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
