Cecil Tolley

Asheville Cecil Anderson Tolley, 72, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Charles George VA Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Tolley worked for many years as an automotive mechanic as well as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Tolley was the son of the late J.C. and Lillian Calloway Tolley. He was also preceded in death by his infant brother, Charles Richard Tolley. Surviving are his sisters: Rev. Barbara Tolley Branks and husband Paul, and Betty Tolley; niece, Donna Branks Ledford; and nephew, Jonathan Tolley. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Barbara Branks and Rev. John Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with military graveside rites provided by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 9:30 10:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
