Cecil T. Mchone

West Asheville - Cecil Terrell "Tincy" McHone, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He retired in 1982 as a Foreman of the Sanitation Department with the City of Asheville after 38 years of service. Mr. McHone was the son of the late Spurgeon Lafayette McHone and Laura Leola Murry McHone and husband of Betty Louise Burrell McHone who died March 7, 1993. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Roberts. Surviving are his daughters, Betty Hicks and husband Ronnie, Terry Penland and husband Steve and Teresa Edwards and husband Rodney all of Asheville and Cathy English and husband Ken of Weaverville; son, Tommy McHone of Asheville; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Lynda Bishop of Asheville. Graveside services will be held 1 PM Saturday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Allen Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home and at other times, the family will be at the home of a daughter, Terry Penland, 165 Pennsylvania Ave, Asheville.
