Cecil Mcintosh

Asheville - Cecil McIntosh , 77, of 261 School Road - East, died Friday, November 9, 2001 at the Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center. A native of Bee Log section of Yancey County. He had resided in Buncombe County for the past 6 years and was a son of the late Jim and Nancy Ledford McIntosh. Mr. McIntosh retired in 1967 from the U.S. Navy serving during W.W. I I and Vietnam War as a Utilitiesman 1st Class. He later retired from the Department of the Navy Civil Service as a Pipefitter and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Joann Williams McIntosh of the home; son, Kenneth Alan McIntosh of San Diego, California; grand daughter, Bailey L. McIntosh of San Diego; sisters, Pat Head of Asheville and Hazel Zimmer of Dayton, Ohio; brother, Jack P. McIntosh of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell Rector officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
