Asheville Cecil C. Jackson Jr. passed away on August 20, 2018 at the age of 84 years. A native of Biltmore in Asheville, N.C., he was the son of the late Cecil Cairnes Jackson and Julia Campiche Jackson. Cecil received his undergraduate degree on a football scholarship and continued his education receiving a law degree, both at Wake Forest University where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Cecil was hired to serve as an FBI agent from February 1960 - October 1962. During his tenure at the FBI, Cecil received recognition by director, J. Edgar Hoover for his investigation that resulted in 17 felony bank fraud convictions. Following his time in the FBI, Cecil independently opened Cecil C. Jackson Attorney at Law, where he carried out his 40+ year career practicing on general legal matters. Cecil continued doing pro bono legal work for many years post retirement. Cecil was involved in various civic activities within his community. He was a longtime member and past President of the West Asheville Kiwanis Club. Cecil was the troop leader of Boy Scouts of America, Troop 100 based in Pisgah View Apartments throughout the mid 1960s, among other involvements. He is survived by his sons, Everett Keith Jackson and Mark Edward Jackson; daughter, Annette Jackson Pfister; daughters-in-law, Rebecca Jane Jackson and Janice Marie Jackson and grandchildren, Samuel Andrew Jackson, Aaron Lucas Jackson, Kristen Jackson Almy and Candice Taylor Jackson; siblings, Bob Jackson, Kip Jackson and Tonya Jackson and numerous cousins, including Gary, Dale and Frank Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, August 23, 2018 in the chapel of the Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Summers officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family will have a reception immediately following services at the funeral home.
