Catherine Pendergrast

Woodfin Catherine Wood Pendergrast, 87, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Catherine was born October 3, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Pendergrast. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sandra Smith of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Annette McKinney and husband Bill of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Chris Smith, Jason McKinney and Amy McKinney; eleven great grandchildren, Taylor, Brielle, Jasmine, Joshua, Samantha, Adam, Catie, Eric, Lindsey, Ricki and Matt and one great-great-grandchild, Christian. Our mother was loved by all who knew her. She was a wonderful caregiver to her family and the community. Her life was rich with good loving friends. We could never praise her or thank her enough for the strength, courage and love that she gave to our lives. Visitation will be Friday, October 19, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 2:30 PM in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
