Carroll T. "Slippy" Fowler

September 19, 1912 — October 1, 2001

Asheville - Carroll T. Slippy Fowler, 89, formerly of the Spring Creek Community of Madison County died Monday, October 1, 2001 at Mountain Area Hospice. He was the son of the late Furman and Addie Cody Fowler, Surviving are his loving and dedicated wife of 65 years, Carolyn Childress Fowler of the home; daughter, Yvonne Petersen of Arden; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren including 2 special great grandchildren, Meg and Mollie of Asheville; 1 great great grandson; 3 brothers, John Fowler of Romulus, MI, Phill Fowler of Tipton, MO, and Ray Fowler of Candler; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. G.W. Jameson officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Petersen, Harry Hayes, Larry Hayes, Kenneth Fowler, Roger Childress, and Jerry Stone. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
