Carolyn Weir Nantelle

Carolyn Weir Nantelle, born February 15, 1944, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 28, 2016 after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Asheville and Buncombe County and career retiree of Bell South. She was 72. She was the daughter of the late Cicero Lev Weir and late Pauline Buckner Weir, and sister of the late Martha Weir Gorman, all of Asheville. She is survived by her half brother, William L. Weir of Novato, CA; son, Richard E. Nantelle, III; daughter, Pauline Nantelle Curtis; grandson, Chance Keith Curtis; niece, Franci Gorman Gasperson; and many cousins, great nieces and great nephews, all of the Asheville and WNC area. She is lovingly remembered for her devotion to family and friends, passion for gardening, needlepoint and genealogy, whose WNC family history extends back nearly 300 years. Memorial graveside services will be held at 3 PM Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Green Hills Cemetery, with Rev. Brian Williams officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
