ASHEVILLE Carolyn Sapp Baliles, 70, of 36 Providence Road, died Friday July 27, 2007 at the St. Josephs Campus of Memorial Mission Hospital. She had been a resident of Asheville since 1995. She was a former Pastor, along with her husband, and was ordained in both the Church of God and Assembly of God. She was a daughter of the late Leonard and Addie Lee Mullis Sapp and the wife of the late Paul Thomas Baliles who died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by two brothers. Surviving are her daughters, Leigh Ann Meighan of the home (who faithfully cared for her) and Teresa Lynn Jones of Kings Mountain; sons, Paul Anthony Baliles and wife Jan of Asheville and Kenneth Thomas Baliles and wife Deborah of Boones Mill, VA; grandchildren, Tyler and Caroline Pittman, Kalen Baliles, Josh Bunch, Brian Melton, Kyle, Brittany and Cory Baliles; sister, Geraldine Williams of Warner Robbins, GA and brother, Billy Sapp of Bessemer City, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Jenkins and Rev. Bobby Haney officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Her remains will be buried at a later date with her husband at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
