Carolyn Rice

Barnardsville - Carolyn Jane Rice, 62, of 14 Ricetown Road passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at the home of her daughter. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a member of Barnardsville Church of God. Mrs. Rice was the daughter of the late Guy Rice and Lucinda Whittemore Rice. She was also preceded in death her brother, Bobby Glenn Rice and sister, Clois Ann Solesbee. Surviving are her husband, Billy Eugene Rice, who she married November 21, 1968, of the home; children, Kelly Lynn Young & husband Tim of Raleigh, Raymond Lee Rice & wife Sherry of Norfolk, VA, Mark Stacey Rice & wife Amy of Barnardsville; seven grandchildren; brother, Rev. Charles Clell Rice of Barnardsville; several nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Colleen Gouge of Weaverville. Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday at Barnardsville Church of God with Rev. Daniel Reid and Rev. Dean Metcalf officiating. Burial will follow in Big Ivy Cemetery.
